Couple Homeless Due to Fire (4/6/2006)
- A San Luis Obispo couple was made homeless
when their apartment caught fire and burned
on March 26. Donations are being accepted
to help this couple. click

- ASL Tutor - Are you interested in learning sign language? Are you
a parent with a deaf child or do you know someone
with hearing loss? If you need to practice your
signing skills, Beth Huston is now available
for American Sign Language tutoring in the Santa
Maria area. If you are interested in more information,
please email Beth at deafprideclub@aol.com.
- ASL First Aid Class - Charles Toste,
from the American Red Cross in Bakersfield is interested in coming
to teach a Community First Aid and CPR class. A minimum
of 10 people will be required for the class,
and the cost will be $55. No date has been set,
but if you are interested, please

- Free Sorenson Video Relay Systems - Sorenson Video Relay is offering
free Video Relay Systems for Deaf and HOH callers.

- New Weekday Bus Service Available (5/4/2005) - Beginning May 9,
2005, the Breeze Bus will be offering weekday transportation
between Lompoc, Vandenberg Village, Vandengberg

- Santa Marian suspected
of locking woman in bathroom (3/14/2005)
- The Santa Barbara News-Press reported: A Santa Maria man has been
arrested after allegedly locking an acquaintance in a bathroom
for two days, police said. Derek Ryan Roden,
19, who is deaf and cannot speak, was taken
into custody Saturday night on suspicion
of false imprisonment, grand theft and battery. click
